going to the farmer's market is one of my favorite activities.  there is something about the sight of fresh fruits and vegetables, and hearing merry conversions held between buyer and farmer.  today is farmer's market day at the park in my neighborhood. unfortunately i am at work instead of being there perusing and filling my senses with the scents and vibrant colors of summer's bounty. i mean c'mon!

so here.  i put together a make-believe farmer's market day.  i hope you'll indulge as i daydream at my desk.

a few notes:
sustainabletable.org says that, “by purchasing local foods in-season, you eliminate the environmental damage caused by shipping foods thousands of miles, your food dollar goes directly to the farmer, and your family will be able to enjoy the health benefits of eating fresh, unprocessed fruits and vegetables.”

one convenient way to buy fresh and seasonal produce is by participating in csa programs. this link provides great information on various community supported agriculture (csa) in los angeles. have you tried any csa program in your area?

home inspiration and ideas

ideas for our patio.
we have one that is long but slim. maybe about 20 feet long but only 43 inches wide.  one side is where all the grilling action happens.  my little one calls it, "daddy's kitchen".   somewhere in the middle is a small bistro table set where we eat dinner on the warm nights of summer.

one side i would like to turn into a reading nook.  on the corner where i used to grow herbs and tomatoes in a small upside down patio garden.  i'm still contemplating whether to plant herbs or flowers.... but i just love the idea of a reading nook very much.  some place i can retreat in the early evenings, while the days are long, to read my magazines. or just to have my own space to chill with a glass of wine.

Pinteresting

I'd like to splurge on these pretty towels.  They cost $44 (including shipping).  I use it at least 365 times a year, so that's like paying $0.12 per day. Justified? Hmmm...

I was saving my money to buy these cute sandals. I pinned it and bam! people pinned the hell out of it and now this color is sold out!

I stumbled on this site while Pinteresting.  This is a fun place to play dress-up without spending money ;)
Well not really .... because you are tempted to buy the entire outfit after you create your masterpiece.  In the mix up I put together below I already own the dress, but the bag and the shoes ?  Well, I was pinning like crazy that day in hopes I was going to win the $640M Mega jackpot.  I did not win. So it shall remain in my imaginary closet until I catch up paying my credit card.

5. I need this Kitty Tufted Rug
Sophia loves cats and I think this will look nice in our teeny hallway.

Do you pinterest?
